Novak Djokovic wins US Open: 24th Grand Slam of his career

Serbia's Novak Djokovic has won the US Open 2023 title. In the final he defeated Daniil Medvedev of Russia. This is Djokovic's record 24th Grand Slam and fourth US Open men's singles title. She has equaled former Australian tennis star Margaret Court in terms of winning Grand Slam. Djokovic has become the player to win the most titles in men's singles with 24 Grand Slams.

Djokovic's fourth US Open title

This is Djokovic's fourth US Open title. He had previously captured the US Open title in 2011, 2015 and 2018. Djokovic reached the Grand Slam final for a record 36th time and won 24 titles.

Djokovic beats Medvedev in straight sets

In the final played at Margaret Court in New York, Djokovic defeated Daniil Medvedev in a tough match 6-3, 7-6, 6-3. 36-year-old Djokovic won the first set easily 6-3. Medvedev tried to make a comeback in the second set, but Djokovic won the second set also 7-6.

First player to win 24 Grand Slams in the Open Era

Margaret Court has also won a total of 24 Grand Slams, but 13 of those titles were in her name before the Open Era.
