A total of six countries are involved in the Asia Cup 2023, but only three of these teams have been announced. Nepal's team has been announced after Pakistan and Bangladesh. Rohit has been given the command of the team.
Asia Cup 2023 will be held in Sri Lanka and Pakistan from 30 August to 17 September. A total of six countries are participating in this tournament and the team of three of these countries has been announced. Nepal has also released its 17-member squad for the Asia Cup. All-rounder Rohit Paudel has been made the captain of the team. The team also includes former Delhi Capitals spinner Sandeep Lamichhane. The Cricket Association of Nepal announced the squad for the tournament on their social media handles. The Nepal Cricket Board also said that their team would attend a week-long preparatory camp in Pakistan, where they would play matches against PCB-designated teams.
The tournament will be played from August 30 to September 17. It will feature six teams including Afghanistan, Bangladesh and India. Nepal has been placed in Group A along with India and Pakistan. They will play their first match against the hosts on the opening day of the competition in Multan before playing India in Kandy on September 4.
The event will be played in an ODI format and will provide a chance for Asian teams to prepare ahead of the 2023 ICC World Cup in India. Sri Lanka is the six-time defending champion in the tournament. At the same time, this will be Nepal's first appearance in the competition.
