Former India captain Sourav Ganguly is the fifth highest run scorer in the Champions Trophy. He is second in the list of most runs scored by an Indian player in the Champions Trophy and 5th in the world. Ganguly scored 665 runs in 13 matches in the tournament from 1998 to 2004 at an average of 73.88 with three centuries and three half-centuries. Under his captaincy, India reached the final of the Champions Trophy in 2000 and shared the trophy with Sri Lanka in 2002.

4. Kumar Sangakkara - 683 runs

Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara is the next name in the list of highest run scorers in the Champions Trophy. The left-handed batsman has scored 683 runs in 22 matches at an average of 37.94 with one century and four half-centuries in the Champions Trophy from 2000-2013.

3. Shikhar Dhawan - 701 runs

Having scored the most runs in the Champions Trophy by an Indian player, Shikhar Dhawan has played only two editions of the tournament and has finished as the highest run-scorer on both occasions. Playing a key role in India's 2013 victory, Dhawan scored 701 runs in 10 matches at an average of 77.88 in the Champions Trophy in 2013 and 2017.

In 22 matches of his career in the Champions Trophy, Jayawardene has scored 742 runs at an average of 41.22 with five half-centuries. Apart from this, he is the highest run scorer for Sri Lanka in the Champions Trophy.

Most Runs in Champions Trophy History: West Indies' Chris Gayle has scored the most runs in the Champions Trophy. Part of the Windies team that won the title in 2004, Gayle has scored 791 runs in 17 matches in the Champions Trophy from 2002 to 2013, with an average of 52.73 with three centuries and a half-century to his name. The left-handed batsman also holds the record for scoring the most runs in a single edition of the Champions Trophy, where he scored 474 runs (2006).
