Chennai Super Kings suffered a major blow midway through the season when their star left-arm fast bowler, Khaleel Ahmed, was ruled out of the entire tournament due to an injury.
- How the Injury Occurred: During the match played against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Chepauk Stadium on April 16, Khaleel sustained a severe strain in the quadriceps muscle of his right leg.
- Surgery Required: Due to the pain experienced during his bowling run-up, he was unable to even complete his spell. Initially, it was thought to be a minor cramp; however, medical examinations confirmed a 'muscle tear,' following which he underwent successful surgery.
- Performance This Season: The 28-year-old Khaleel Ahmed had played 5 matches for CSK this season, in which he claimed 2 wickets.

Pacer Kuldeep Yadav Joins Chennai Super Kings (CSK)

Following Khaleel Ahmed's withdrawal, the Chennai Super Kings management has brought in 29-year-old fast bowler Kuldeep Yadav as his replacement.
Note: This Kuldeep Yadav is not India's star spinner of the same name, but rather the fast bowler Kuldeep Yadav, who was previously a part of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) squad.

- Base Price: CSK has signed Kuldeep Yadav at his base price of ₹30 lakh.
- IPL Experience: Kuldeep was part of the Rajasthan Royals squad from 2021 to 2023. He made his IPL debut in 2021.

According to an official IPL release, these changes have come into effect immediately. In terms of the Points Table, Chennai Super Kings currently sit in fifth place with 6 wins from 11 matches.
For CSK, the remaining three league-stage matches are essentially 'do-or-die' encounters. To secure a spot in the playoffs, Chennai must win these matches at all costs.
