Mujeeb ur Rahman replaces injured Allah Ghazanfar in Mumbai Indians: IPL 2025 is scheduled to start from March 22. The schedule of the tournament has not been revealed so far, but according to reports, the first match can be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders. Meanwhile, a big news is coming out from the camp of five-time champion Mumbai Indians. The franchise has signed Afghanistan's star spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman in place of injured Allah Ghazanfar.

Mumbai Indians released the official information and wrote,: “Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb ur Rahman Allah is all set to join Mumbai Indians in place of Ghazanfarr, who is out due to injury. Mujeeb, a right-arm mystery spinner known for his exploits around the world, will be our new member in the Blue and Gold army. Talking about the statistics, the 23-year-old has taken 275 wickets in 256 T20s at an economy of 6.75. With renewed vigor, he is ready to make his mark for the five-time champions in IPL 2025. Ghazanfar Bhau, the Paltan wishes you a speedy recovery. We hope to see you back on the field soon!”

23-year-old Mujeeb Ur Rahman did not show interest in participating in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Mujeeb played his last IPL match in 2021. He has represented Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. So far, he has taken 19 wickets in 19 IPL innings at an average of 31.15, economy of 8.18.

Let us tell you, Mujeeb is not fully fit yet, he is not a part of Afghanistan's Champions Trophy squad. However, it is expected that he will be fully fit before the start of IPL 2025.
