Basil Thampi holds the record for conceding the most runs in IPL. Thampi, playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad on 17 May 2018, scored 70 runs in 4 overs at an economy rate of 17.50 against Royal Challengers. On 8 May 2013, playing for Hyderabad, he spent 66 runs in 4 overs against Chennai Super Kings.
