Indian Under-19 team defeated South Africa by 7 wickets

In the Under-19 Men's Tri Series being played in South Africa, India defeated the South African team by 7 wickets in its second match. India won the toss and chose to bowl at the Johannesburg ground on Tuesday. South Africa could not play the full 50 overs against the Indian bowlers and was all out for 240 runs in 46.1 overs. In reply, India chased the target in just 40.5 overs.

For India, Aaradhya Shukla took 4 wickets, while Arshin Kulkarni played a half-century inning of 91 runs. Along with Arshin, Adarsh Singh played an inning of 66 runs and Areveli Avinash played an inning of 60 runs and completed a half century.

South Africa batted first. Luan Pretorius and Steve Stock, who came to open, gave a good start to the team. Pretorius was out after scoring 67 runs and Stock was out after scoring 46 runs.

Captain David Tiger was out after scoring 9 runs, Richard Seltwen 19 runs, Divan Maraier 18 runs, Oliver Whitehead 18 runs, Tandos Juma 1 run, Juan James 16 runs and Waina Mapaka 0 runs. In the end only Kobani Mokoena remained unbeaten scoring 28 runs and Martin Khumaro 2 runs.

For India, Aaradhya Shukla got 4 wickets. Whereas, Soumya Pandey got 3 wickets and Arshin Kulkarni got 2 wickets.

Great opening for India, Avinash supported at number three

India chased the target easily. Adarsh Singh and Arshin Kulkarni, who came to open, took charge from the very first ball. Singh was out after scoring 66 runs and Kulkarni was out after scoring 91 runs. At the same time, at number three, Areveli Avinash remained unbeaten with captain Udas Saharan after scoring 60 runs and chased the target. Saharan scored 4 runs and Sachin Das returned to the pavilion without scoring. India scored 244 runs losing 3 wickets in 40.5 overs.

For South Africa, Kobani Mokoena got 2 wickets and Juan James got one wicket.

The final will be held on January 10

The final of the Under-19 Men's Tri Series being played between South Africa, Afghanistan and India will be held in Johannesburg on 10 January 2024. All three teams will play 2-2 matches against each other. At the same time, the final of the tournament will be between the top-2 teams.
