The first Test between New Zealand and England will be played in Christchurch. Stead said, 'There is still a month left in the England series, so taking a cautious approach will ensure that he is ready for the first Test in Christchurch.'

The series defeat against the Black Caps has reduced India's hopes of qualifying for next year's World Test Championship (WTC) final despite remaining at the top spot with 62.82 percent points. Now, they need to win the third Test against the Kiwis, and also ensure a series win over Australia in the five-match series starting next month.
