Hockey India announces Prize Money: India has won the bronze medal in men's hockey in Paris Olympics. India defeated Spain 2-1 in the bronze medal match. This is India's 13th medal in hockey in Olympic history. At the same time, this has happened after 52 years when the Indian hockey team has won 2 consecutive Olympic medals. After this historic victory, Hockey India has announced the prize money for the players. Along with the players, the coaching staff has also become rich.
Hockey India has announced a reward of Rs 15 lakh for each player of the Indian men's hockey team and Rs 7.5 lakh for each member of the support staff for their outstanding performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Hockey India President Dr Dilip Tirkey lauded the team's historic performance and said, "This victory is a result of the hard work, determination and resilience of our players and support staff. Winning consecutive Olympic medals is an extraordinary achievement. I heartily congratulate PR Sreejesh for his stellar career and invaluable contribution to Indian hockey. His legacy will inspire generations to come."
On the other hand, the Punjab government has announced a reward of crores for the players of its state. CM Bhagwant Mann has announced a reward of Rs 1 crore each for the players of Punjab included in the Indian hockey team. Actually, the policy of the Punjab government is that it gives one crore rupees as a reward to the players who win in the Olympics. In such a situation, shooter Sarabjot Singh will also get a reward of 1 crore, who along with Manu Bhaker won the bronze medal in the mixed 10 meter air pistol.
