BCCI has imposed a fine of Rs 12 lakh on Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya. BCCI gave this punishment to Hardik Pandya after Mumbai Indians' victory against Punjab Kings. In the match played in Mullanpur, Mumbai Indians have been fined lakhs due to slow over rate. Mumbai team could not complete the overs on time against Punjab Kings, due to which BCCI has taken action against Hardik Pandya.

BCCI said in a release after the Punjab Kings vs Mumbai Indians (PBKS vs MI) match that Hardik Pandya, the Mumbai Indians captain, has been fined as his team could not bowl the entire overs in the stipulated time. This was the Mumbai team's first offense of the season under the IPL's code of conduct relating to minimum over rate offences. A fine of Rs 12 lakh has been imposed on Pandya.

Let us tell you that Mumbai Indians team was running 2 overs behind the scheduled time and due to this the team had to keep an extra fielder in the 30 yard circle in the 19th and 20th overs. However, this did not cause any loss to Mumbai and Mumbai team won the match by defeating Punjab Kings by 9 runs.

This was the first mistake of Mumbai Indians in the current season, due to which BCCI imposed a fine of Rs 12 lakh on Hardik Pandya. If the Mumbai team makes this mistake for the second time, then captain Hardik will be fined Rs 24 lakh instead of Rs 12 lakh. Apart from them, other players will also be punished.

Mumbai Indians won by 9 runs

Batting first, Mumbai Indians team scored 192 runs in 20 overs. For Mumbai team, 36 runs came from the bat of Rohit Sharma. There was a storm in Mullanpur from Suryakumar Yadav, who played a stormy innings of 78 runs with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes in 53 balls. Tilak Verma scored unbeaten 34 runs in the match. In reply, Punjab Kings had a bad start while chasing 193 runs. Wickets kept falling for the Punjab team and on behalf of the team, Shashank Singh scored 41 runs and Ashutosh Sharma scored 61 runs. Mumbai Indians won this match by 9 runs.
