Delhi Capitals (DC) are set to face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in match number 48 of IPL 2025 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, on Tuesday, April 29. DC have had a mixed run so far, winning six out of their nine games and sitting comfortably in fourth place with 12 points. Currently in 7th place with just 7 points from nine games, the defending champions, KKR, are struggling to make progress.
Delhi has struggled lately, losing three of their last five games after a great start to the season with four straight victories. Their latest outing saw them fall short against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), managing only 162 runs before losing by six wickets at home.
KKR, on the other hand, have had a tough few weeks. Rain ruined their last match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) after conceding 201 runs. Prior to that, they suffered consecutive defeats against PBKS and Gujarat Titans (GT), exposing vulnerabilities in both batting and bowling departments.
Both clubs will be keen to win, Kolkata to turn around their struggling campaign and Delhi to bolster their playoff drive.
Arun Jaitley Stadium's surface has historically been batting-friendly and reasonably priced for strokes with small boundary dimensions. However, spinners often come into play as the game progresses. A total in the range of 170-190 could be highly competitive.
The weather forecast for Tuesday indicates clear skies with no rain interruptions expected. The temperature is likely to hover around 28-30°C during match hours, with humidity levels manageable for the players.
The rivalry between DC and KKR has been closely contested over the years.
Last season, KKR won both their matches against DC, adding a psychological edge coming into this game.

Despite a recent dip in form, Delhi Capitals look better placed coming into this clash, especially with home advantage and a balanced squad. Their batting depth and spin attack, led by Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel, could be key on a slowing surface. Kolkata Knight Riders, although filled with big names like Andre Russell and Sunil Narine, have been inconsistent both with bat and ball.
If DC can manage early breakthroughs and control KKR’s powerful middle-order, they should emerge victorious. However, if KKR’s top-order fires, they could turn the tables quickly.
