IPL 2024 is going to start from today, March 22. The first match will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore (CSK vs RCB) at M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Both the teams will enter this match with major changes. Ruturaj Gaikwad will now be seen captaining CSK while RCB will be seen playing under the leadership of Faf du Plessis with a new name.
Before the IPL, the team management of Chennai Super Kings took a big decision and appointed Ruturaj Gaikwad as the captain of the team. Mahendra Singh Dhoni will not be seen leading Chennai in the upcoming tournament. This news broke the hearts of CSK fans. Dhoni has led Chennai in 212 matches. Of these, the team tasted victory in 128 matches and defeat in 82. At the same time, two matches remained inconclusive. Chennai had captured the title last season by defeating Gujarat Titans.
The first match to be played on Friday will see a tough competition between the two teams. Chennai will look to win the first match of this season to defend their previous title while RCB would like to start this edition with a win. This match is going to be very special for the fans of Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
