In 2012, Mumbai once again defeated Chennai by eight wickets in the opening match of the season.
In 2018, for the first time, Chennai won by one wicket in the first match of the league against Mumbai.
In 2019, Chennai defeated RCB by seven wickets.
In IPL 2020, Chennai once again defeated Mumbai Indians by five wickets.
Kolkata Knight Riders defeated CSK by six wickets in IPL 2022.
In the 16th season of IPL (2023), Chennai was defeated by Gujarat Titans by five wickets.
