Defending champions Mumbai Indians are set to lock horns with Chennai Super Kings on Sunday in Dubai. Currently, MI is placed at the fourth spot with eight points, and earlier than the tournament’s second section, former England skipper Kevin Pietersen has urged that the defending champions cannot afford to lose their initial number of games.
Former England player Kevin Pietersen believes MS Dhoni -led city Super Kings (CSK) have a good likelihood of claiming their fourth IPL trophy once the season resumes. The fourteenth edition of the IPL is equipped to induce current on Sept nineteen once the Mumbai Indians (MI) wrestle CSK.

“Everybody wrote off the old boys’ army of Chennai Super Kings before the IPL started in April, so seeing them go so well was a bit of a surprise. Their overseas players Faf du Plessis , Moeen Ali, and Sam Curran, in particular, delivered the goods. But I’m not sure how well this four-month absence will have suited them.”
“It could take them a little while to crank back into gear, particularly the older players. If they are ready, it could be a historic few weeks for the franchise. They have a fantastic shot at winning a title that everybody thought was beyond them,” he added.
“Everybody wrote off the old boys’ army of CSK before the Indian Premier league started in April, so seeing them go so well was a bit of a surprise.
“But I’m not sure how well this four-month absence will have suited them. It could take them a little while to crank back into gear, particularly the older players.
“If they are ready, it could be a historic few weeks for the franchise. They have a fantastic shot at winning a title that everybody thought was beyond them,” Pietersen further mentioned.
