Rishabh Pant had scored a century on the last tour but he is not a part of the current Indian squad. Virat Kohli, included in the squad, scored 141 runs in 2 matches played in Cape Town. He has scored a fifty here. In the second test too, the responsibility of Indian batting will once again rest on the shoulders of Kohli. He had played innings of 38 and 76 runs in the first test.
The Newlands ground has been helpful for fast bowlers, despite this only 3 Indian bowlers could take more than 10 wickets here. Jasprit Bumrah, who is included in the current squad, has taken 10 wickets in just 2 tests here. He had also taken 5 wickets in the innings on the same ground on the last tour.
