The 21st match of IPL 2024 was played between Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans (LSG vs GT) on Sunday. Yash Thakur of Lucknow bowled lethal bowling in this match. He achieved the first Pfeiffer of his career. The young bowler had an important contribution in Lucknow's third consecutive victory. He destroyed Gujarat's batting order with his killer bowling.

Yash Thakur took the first five-wicket haul of IPL 2024

Yash Thakur opened his paw in the match played at Ekana Stadium. He spent 30 runs in 3.5 overs and took five wickets. This is the first five-wicket haul achieved by a bowler in the current season. His previous best bowling performance was four wickets for 37 runs. He did this feat in the match played against Punjab Kings last season.

Batting first on its home ground, Lucknow scored 163 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs, thanks to a half-century by Marcus Stoinis. In response, Gujarat team was all out after scoring only 130 runs. Yash Thakur dismissed Shubhman Gill (19), Vijay Shankar (17), Rashid Khan (0), Rahul Tewatia (30), Noor Ahmed (04). Gujarat's camp was completely blown away by their storm. Whereas, Krunal Pandya took three wickets while Naveen-ul-Haq and Ravi Bishnoi took one wicket each.

This is the 25-year-old bowler's second best performance of his career for Lucknow. Yash Thakur took five wickets for 30 runs in 3.5 overs. Before him, Mark Wood had achieved this feat in the IPL 2023 match played against Delhi Capitals. Mohsin Khan is at third place in this list with four wickets. At the same time, Avesh Khan is at fourth position with the same number of wickets.
