5 players Who Can Attract Highest Bids in IPL 2024 Auction

There is a lot of conjecture over who players could fetch the highest bids from the participating clubs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Auction 2024, which is scheduled to take place in Dubai on December 19. Englishman Sam Curran now has the record for being the most expensive player in IPL history. The all-rounder was acquired by Punjab Kings for an incredible 18.50 crore INR at the IPL 2023 auction, surpassing the 16.25 crore Rajasthan Royals paid for Chris Morris in 2022.

It wouldn't be shocking to see the record shattered once more this season, with some of the most sought-after cricket talents in the world scheduled to go under the hammer at the IPL 2024 auction and numerous clubs having substantial purses.

Rachin Ravindra (New Zealand)

Rachin Ravindra's stock shot increased during the 2023 ICC Men's ODI Cricket World Cup in India. The Kiwi batsman finished as the fourth-highest run scorer in the World Cup after hitting 578 runs in 10 innings, including three hundred and two half tons. This was his maiden appearance in the competition. With the ball, the 24-year-old is as effective and can take big wickets with his slow left-arm spin. He is a hot candidate for the IPL auction since he has previously demonstrated his skill at the bat on Indian surfaces and has amassed 11 wickets in 13 T20I innings.

The Kiwi sensation's skills will be much sought after, so anticipate a vigorous bidding war for the handy all-rounder. Bidding will begin at a relatively low base price of INR 50 lakh.

Daryl Mitchell (New Zealand)

In addition to his reputation for hitting for power, Daryl Mitchell had the uncommon ability to extend innings starting with the middle order. Similar to Rachin Ravindra, he made a significant contribution to New Zealand's performance in the recently finished ODI World Cup, finishing sixth on the list of top run scorers with 552 runs. Remarkably, he scored two centuries in the competition against the Indian hosts.

Mitchell is a useful bowling option for any side because of his medium-pace right-handed bowling abilities. His scoring average, though, will be the main attraction. In Twenty20 Internationals, the big Kiwi strikes at a pace of slightly around 140, averaging close to 25. The starting bid for Daryl Mitchell is one crore Indian rupees.

Travis Head (Australia)

The vice-captain of Australia is a good medium-pacer bowler and a flexible opening batsman. Head was named Player of the Match in both the semifinal matchup against South Africa and the championship matchup against India, helping Australia win the 2023 ODI World Cup.

With a base price of INR 2 crore, Australia's World Cup hero is expected to fetch a record amount at the IPL 2024 auction. The Aussie is guaranteed to draw massive crowds.

Mitchell Starc (Australia)

For nearly ten years, this left-arm bowler has been the leader of Australia's pace attack and has demonstrated success in winning matches in international cricket. Even though he hasn't participated in the IPL since 2015, his background and experience should bring a high price. At the IPL 2024 auction, Starc may be among the most sought-after players as clubs search for elite bowlers.

Gerald Coetzee (South Africa)

Gerald Coetzee is an impressive fast bowler who has amazed everyone with his raw pace and ability to take wickets since making his debut for the South African national squad earlier this year. Known as one of the world's most promising young bowlers, the young player played up to expectations at the 2023 ODI World Cup, taking 20 wickets in just eight matches to lead his squad.

Coetzee, who is skilled at bowling with both the new ball and older leather, will be in great demand from all teams this season who want to bolster their pace batteries. Coetzee would ask for the 2 crore premium base value.
