Will the duo of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor make a comeback on screen after 10 years?
Bollywood couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan have worked together in several films. Fans absolutely adore their pairing and their acting styles. However, it has been over a decade since they were last seen together on screen. While fans are eager to see them together on screen once again, Saif recently explained in an interview why the two of them do not work together.
The Reason for Not Working with Kareena:
In a conversation with Variety India, Saif Ali explained that, as husband and wife, they share a deep bond and a mutual comfort level; consequently, their on-screen chemistry might not appear as impactful. In films, it is often a sense of discomfort and conflict that elevates the quality of acting. When working with Kareena, he often finds himself prioritizing her comfort, which subsequently impacts his ability to deliver a flawless performance. When real-life couples appear on screen together, their pairing sometimes lacks that special spark within the context of a film.
What Kind of Films Would Saif Like to Do Together?
Saif further added, "I would certainly be open to working with Kareena in the future, provided the story and characters are distinct and unique." Citing the example of a commercial—in which Kareena played a housewife and he played a driver—he noted that audiences tend to appreciate such unconventional dynamics. Expressing his fondness for the murder mystery genre, he suggested that a story centered on a married couple—featuring elements of mystery or suspense—could prove to be a highly entertaining endeavor.
Kareena and Saif's Relationship:
It is worth noting that Saif Ali Khan and Kareena grew close to each other during the filming of the movie Tashan in 2007–08. Gradually, their friendship blossomed into love, and the couple dated for five years. Subsequently, they tied the knot in 2012 and have since become parents to two sons. Their sons are named Taimur Ali Khan and Jeh Ali Khan.
On the Work Front:
As far as their professional lives are concerned, Saif was recently seen in the film Kartavya. Following this, he will soon appear in Hum Hindustani, which is slated for release on Netflix. Additionally, Haiwan is also currently in the pipeline. Meanwhile, Kareena continues to make headlines regarding her upcoming film Daayra, in which she will be seen playing the lead role alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran.
