The central government has increased petrol and diesel prices by ₹3.25 per litre across the country, adding fresh pressure on household budgets. The revised fuel rates came into effect on Friday morning and have impacted major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and several NCR regions.

Apart from petrol and diesel, CNG prices in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai Metropolitan Region have also been raised by ₹2 per kilogram. In another blow to consumers, Mother Dairy has increased milk prices by up to ₹2 per litre due to rising production and operational costs.

Petrol and Diesel Prices See Major Jump Nationwide

Following the latest revision, fuel prices have surged sharply across India. In the national capital, Delhi, petrol prices rose from ₹94.77 to ₹97.77 per litre, while diesel increased from ₹87.67 to ₹90.67 per litre.

Several states including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala are now witnessing petrol prices crossing the ₹110 per litre mark. Diesel prices in many cities are also inching closer to ₹100 per litre.

Despite the increase, the government has assured citizens that fuel supplies remain stable across the country. The Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry stated that refineries are operating normally and there is no shortage of petrol, diesel, or LPG anywhere in India.
