Amid rumours of MS Dhoni being a part of the film, the film's director Venkat Prabhu recently dropped a cryptic hint.

In an interview, he said, "We are incorporating a CSK match in the film 'GOAT' - then you know who will appear on screen."

This mysterious statement has led to the belief that the former CSK captain might indeed be seen in a special cameo role. However, the details about Dhoni's role in the film are still completely confidential and it is expected to be a cameo role.

For the time being, this is not the first time Dhoni is stepping into Tamil cinema. Last year, the cricket legend stepped into Tamil cinema as a producer with his first Tamil production venture 'LGM (Let's Get Married)'. The 43-year-old Dhoni's stepping into Tamil cinema is no coincidence.

Talking about the 'GOAT' film, it will be released globally on 5 September 2024, and it will be available in both IMAX and normal. The budget of the film is between 300 to 400 crores INR.
