Luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has launched the facelift of Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 4Matic in the Indian market. The company has priced this luxury SUV at Rs 3.35 crore (ex-showroom) and customers can also customize it as per their choice, after which the price will increase.
The biggest change in the car has been made in the powertrain. This car is now equipped with 4 liter twin turbo V8 turbo petrol engine. Apart from this, ADAS Level 2 safety features have been provided in it. The Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 will have the same luxury cabin experience as before, but slight changes have been made in its design. This car competes with cars like Range Rover SV, Bentley Bentayga and Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
The company has introduced the car with cosmetic changes. The company's logo is given on the hood at the front, below which a bigger Maybach pattern grille is found. Now its front bumper has been made thinner than before. Now small Maybach logos have been given on its air dams also.
Talking about the side profile, there is no major change in the design here, but it has been given the option of many newly designed Maybach-special alloy wheels, whose size is up to 23 inches.
The Maybach GLS also comes with a retractable side step that comes out as soon as you open the door, making it easier to get in and out of the luxury SUV. There have been minor changes at the rear of the car, where it now gets a newly designed bumper, lots of chrome elements and a stylish AC vents.
Apart from the new steering wheel, not much has been updated in the luxury SUV. Its old dashboard layout has been retained. It has AC vents and center console with chrome elements.
In India, the car comes with a 4 seater configuration, which has lounge-like seats and an extended center console between them. The rear seats recline like first class seats in flight. These also have massage functioning along with heat and ventilation.
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLS Maybach has a 4-liter twin turbo V8 turbo petrol engine. This engine is given in the company's AMG performance cars like GT63 S e-Performance and AMG S63 e-Performance.
The engine given in Maybach GLS 600 generates power of 557 PS and torque of 770 NM and it also has a 48-volt mild hybrid setup, which gives power of 21PS and torque boost of 250NM.
For transmission, the engine is tuned with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV comes with all wheel drive option. The company claims that the car can achieve speed from 0 to 100kmph in 4.9 seconds.
The GLS Maybach SUV features a dual integrated screen setup on the dashboard, new generation MBUX digital assistant, 4-zone climate control, wireless phone charger, all heated and ventilated seats, 13-speaker Burmester sound system, electric sunblind, panoramic sunroof and rear seats. Features like dedicated screens have been provided. Apart from this, a fridge with champagne flutes is also provided at the back.
For safety, the car has been provided with features like multiple airbags, electronic stability control and lane keep assist, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking. It also has adaptive air suspension that actively adjusts while the car is moving to provide a comfortable ride to the occupants.
