England's David Malan decides to retire from international cricket

England's legendary batsman David Malan has announced his retirement from international cricket. He has played 22 Tests, 30 ODIs and 62 T20 Internationals for England. Apart from Jos Buttler, Malan is the second England batsman to score a century in all three international formats.

Malan has not been a part of the team since the ODI World Cup held in India last year. Recently the ECB announced the team for the upcoming limited overs series against Australia. Malan did not get a place in this as well. After this he decided to retire.

Has been number-1 in T20 rankings:

England's explosive batsman David Malan has been number-1 in the T20 rankings. Malan was last seen playing in November 2023. He made his T20 international cricket debut for England in 2017. In this match played against South Africa, he played a memorable innings of 77 runs in 44 balls. Malan has 1074 runs in Tests, 1450 in ODIs and 1892 runs in T20 international cricket.

Malan has also been seen in IPL:

Left-handed batsman Malan is famous for his consistency in the domestic circuit. He maintained his performance at the international level as well. He has also played in the IPL. Malan was made a part of the team by Punjab Kings in the year 2021 for Rs 1.5 crore. However, he got a chance to play in only one match. He has 26 runs registered in his name in the IPL.

Malan has also dominated domestic cricket. Talking about his first class career, he has scored 13201 runs in 212 matches with the help of 30 centuries and 58 half-centuries. At the same time, he has 6561 runs in his name in 178 List A matches. In this format, he has scored 16 centuries and 32 half-centuries.
