ENG vs NZ 1st Test, Day 1 Highlights: 16 Wickets Fall in Seam Chaos

The first day of the Lord's Test (June 4) was absolutely wild and belonged entirely to the fast bowlers! Due to rain and bad light, only 59 overs of play were possible, yet 16 wickets fell, and the batting lineups of both teams crumbled like a house of cards.

England Update

• Batting: Suffered a complete collapse in the first innings, getting bowled out for just 140 runs. Only Harry Brook (56) managed to hold his ground.
• Bowling: A spectacular comeback! Ollie Robinson, playing after nearly two years, wreaked havoc by taking 3 wickets in his very first over. He has claimed 4 wickets so far.
• Goal: On Day 2, quickly wrap up New Zealand's remaining 4 wickets and prevent them from taking a significant lead.

New Zealand Update

• Bowling: Kyle Jamieson took 5/62, dismantling England cheaply and putting the team in a strong position.
• Batting: Got off to a disastrous start; at one point, the team had lost 6 wickets for just 29 runs. The score currently stands at 61/6. Glenn Phillips (31*) is at the crease, attempting a counter-attack.
• Goal: Glenn Phillips and the tail-enders need to add as many runs as possible to get close to England's score of 140 (they currently trail by 79 runs).
