Modern teams covet this kind of combination, given the growing importance of contributions from lower-order batsmen.

Amad Butt’s talent was recognized early on; he made his first-class debut in 2015 and launched his List-A career just a few months later. His maiden season in red-ball cricket was successful, yielding 27 wickets at an average of 21 and a strike rate of 37. In contrast, he has been less effective in the shorter formats. While Butt does take wickets with the white ball, his economy rate tends to be high, particularly in T20s.
