Schedule Announced for ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2026; 10 Teams to Compete in the UAE

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the schedule for the second edition of the Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy 2026. The number of participating teams has been increased from 8 to 10. The tournament will be held from November 12 to 25 in the city of Ajman, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The tournament will feature 5 ICC Full Member nations—Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Ireland, and Zimbabwe—alongside 5 Associate Member nations: the Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Thailand, and the hosts, the UAE.

Tournament Format and Group Divisions

All 10 teams have been divided into two groups of five:

Group A: Sri Lanka, Ireland, Scotland, Papua New Guinea (PNG), and the UAE (hosts).
Group B: Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand, the Netherlands, and Zimbabwe.

The group stage matches will take place between November 12 and 18. The top three teams from each group will advance to the 'Super Six' stage.

The Super Six matches will be played on November 20, 22, and 23, followed by the final—a title clash between the top two teams in the points table—on November 25.

It is worth noting that the Thailand women's team is the reigning champion of this tournament, having won the inaugural edition on home soil in 2025.

ICC Statement

Gaurav Saxena, ICC General Manager of Events and Operations, stated while releasing the schedule:

"Increasing the number of teams in the Emerging Nations Trophy to 10 is a significant step toward the development of women's cricket and provides an international platform for emerging teams. With 5 Full Members and 5 Associate Members coming together, players will have a fantastic opportunity to prove themselves at a higher level."
