Lyca Kovai Kings pacer Deeban Lingesh claimed the tournament's first 'Golden Hat-trick' by taking three consecutive wickets off the first three balls of the innings. Powered by this lethal spell, Kovai Kings defeated Trichy Grand Cholas by a massive margin of 84 runs and secured their spot in the final.

Chasing a target of 184 runs, Trichy Grand Cholas got off to a nightmarish start. Deeban Lingesh sent K. Rajkumar back to the pavilion on the very first ball of the match. He then dealt a second blow to Trichy on the second ball by having S. Shyam Sundar caught in the slips.
Lingesh clean-bowled K. Kaushik, who had arrived at the crease for the hat-trick delivery. All three batsmen who fell on the opening three balls of the innings were dismissed on their very first ball (golden ducks). Achieved during a high-pressure Qualifier 2 match, this feat also marked the first hat-trick of TNPL 2026.

Trichy Collapses to 6/5: Deeban Lingesh and Manimaran Siddharth Wreck Havoc
The Trichy team could not recover from Lingesh's initial onslaught. From the other end, Manimaran Siddharth provided excellent support to Lingesh and triggered a collapse of wickets. Consequently, Trichy Grand Cholas lost their first five crucial wickets with the team score standing at just 6 runs.
In his four-over spell, Deeban Lingesh claimed 3 wickets for just 14 runs, including one maiden over.
