VIDEO, Australian batsman invented this unique shot

Jake Lehmann scoops using the back of the bat to hit boundaries in the South Australia vs Tasmania match in the Marsh Cup.

Especially the batsmen have progressed by showing aggressive play in this format of 20 overs. Batter has now invented many unique shots to take advantage of the maximum part of the field. Be it switch hit, lap shot or reverse scoop, players have set a new trend of unconventional shots. In this connection, Australian batsman Jake Lehmann on Wednesday applied the scoop using the back part of the bat to hit the boundary. It looked fresh but dangerous.

In fact, Lehmann played this shot against off-spinner Jarrod Freeman for the South Australia team in Australia's domestic List A tournament - the Marsh Cup. Freeman bowled the ball to the right-hander and Lehmann scooped it with his opposite bat and hit it over the wicketkeeper's head for a four.

Jake Lehmann scored 35 runs in 34 balls for the team and South Australia were all out for 220 runs. Alex Carey played the highest innings of 59 runs and no other batsman could show anything special.

For Tasmania seamer Tom Rogers did the best job with the ball, taking five wickets for just 32 runs. Riley Meredith also took two wickets.

The opening partnership of 198 runs between Ben McDermott and Caleb Jewel sealed Tasmania's victory.

While McDermott was dismissed by Benjamin Manetti after scoring 90 off 71 balls, Jewel scored an unbeaten 126 off 97 balls. They achieved the target in 32.5 overs and won the match by eight wickets.
