The 16th match of the UP T20 League 2026 turned into a one-sided affair after Rinku Singh produced a sensational late cameo. With the match reduced to 8 overs per side, every delivery became crucial.
Rinku walked into bat after Akshay Dubey retired hurt and immediately shifted the momentum in Meerut’s favour. The India batter smashed 2 fours and 3 sixes during his seven-ball stay at the crease.
His 29-run knock at a strike rate of 414.29 became the biggest talking point of the match.
Rain Cuts Match to 8 Overs, But Rinku Singh Turns It Into a Run-Fest
Rain interrupted the contest between Meerut Mavericks and Gorakhpur Lions, forcing the match to be reduced to 8 overs per side.
Gorakhpur Lions, led by Aryan Juyal, batted first and scored 91 runs in their allotted eight overs. The Lions had made an excellent start and reached 63 runs in five overs.
However, Meerut’s bowlers fought back strongly during the final stages and prevented Gorakhpur from posting a bigger total.
