Tim Seifert Century: Tim Seifert's excellent form in T20 cricket continues. The right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman has once again smashed a spectacular century. In the 17th match of the Caribbean Premier League, Seifert scored an unbeaten century to lead his team to victory.
The St. Lucia opener scored an unbeaten 105 off 61 balls against the Trinbago Knight Riders, propelling his team to a total of 211 runs in 20 overs. In response, the Trinbago Knight Riders could only manage 175 runs in their 20 overs, resulting in a 36-run defeat.
Interestingly, Seifert who defeated Trinbago in the CPL plays for Shah Rukh Khan's team in the IPL. In other words, the very player who helps Shah Rukh Khan win matches in the IPL forced Shah Rukh's team to their knees in the CPL.
How Seifert Smashed His Century
Tim Seifert displayed his aggressive intent the moment he stepped onto the crease. He hit a magnificent four off just the second delivery he faced from Akeal Hosein. He followed this up by smashing three consecutive fours against Dominic Drakes. Seifert brought up his half-century in the ninth over.
He completed his fifty off 28 balls by hitting a six off a delivery from Abdul Rahim. Seifert became even more dangerous after reaching his half-century; between that milestone and the end of the 10th over, he struck three more sixes.
Seifert took St. Lucia's score past the 200-run mark in the 19th over and smashed a century off 58 balls. He hit a total of 9 fours and 5 sixes during his innings. A highlight of Seifert's performance was that he shared half-century partnerships with three different players: he added 60 runs off 34 balls with Kamil Pooran, put together a 75-run stand off 38 balls with John Campbell, and combined with Charith Asalanka to add 51 runs off 36 balls.
Seifert's Remarkable Form
Tim Seifert has been in sensational form over the past two years. He has scored six centuries in T20 cricket, two of which have come in the last two years alone. His run of centuries began with the Lanka Premier League in 2024.
Subsequently, he scored centuries in the Big Bash League and the Caribbean Premier League (last year). Now, he has once again hit a century in the Caribbean Premier League.
