Sahibzada Farhan vs Sri Lanka: Sahibzada Farhan, the new T20 captain of the Pakistan cricket team, has set a record in the history of international T20 cricket that no other captain in world cricket had previously achieved.
He reached this milestone by playing a magnificent innings in the third match of the ongoing three-game home T20 series against Sri Lanka. He has become the first captain in the world to score three consecutive half-centuries across all three matches of a bilateral T20I series.
Sahibzada Farhan's Historic World Record
Stepping in for Salman Ali Agha to lead the team, 28-year-old Sahibzada Farhan completely dismantled the Sri Lankan bowling attack throughout the series, excelling in his dual role as captain and opener.
Farhan made his debut as a full-time captain in Rawalpindi on October 9, steering Pakistan to a massive victory with a blistering knock of 89 runs. In the second match at the same venue, he smashed 73 runs off just 44 balls, propelling the team's total past the 200-run mark.
In the third and final match, when the rest of the batting lineup faltered, Farhan scored 76 runs off 47 balls, hitting 7 fours and 3 sixes. The Pakistani batting lineup got off to a poor start in this match.
Maaz Sadaqat, the star of the previous game, failed to open his account, while Fakhar Zaman returned to the pavilion after scoring just 12 runs. Hasan Nawaz, Khawaja Nafay, Mohammad Imran, and Abdul Samad also failed to perform. Despite wickets falling consistently at one end, Captain Farhan held the fort single-handedly and kept the scoreboard ticking.
Pakistan Scores 168 Runs
Batting first in this match, Pakistan scored 168 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. Alongside Sahibzada Farhan, Arafat Minhas played a blistering unbeaten knock of 34 runs off 20 balls. Apart from these two batsmen, no one else could reach the 20-run mark.
