SA20 2027 Schedule: Fifth season of SA20 to begin on January 17, final to be played in Cape Town; check the full playoff schedule

The official schedule for the fifth season (2027) of SA20, South Africa's premier T20 franchise league, has been announced. The tournament will kick off on January 17, 2027, at St George's Park in Gqeberha, while the title clash will take place on February 21, 2027, at the historic Newlands ground in Cape Town.

The season opener will be played between the defending champions, Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC), and the runners-up, Pretoria Capitals (PC). This match will be a rematch of the 2026 season final.

Paarl to host Qualifier 1 for the first time

A major highlight of this season will be Boland Park, the home ground of the Paarl Royals.

Playoff Fixtures Schedule (SA20 2027 Playoff Fixtures):

• Qualifier 1: 16 February 2027 (Boland Park, Paarl)
• Eliminator: 17 February 2027 (Wanderers, Johannesburg)
• Qualifier 2: 19 February 2027 (Wanderers, Johannesburg)
• Final: 21 February 2027 (Newlands, Cape Town)

4 Saturday Double-Headers and a Busy Schedule

The tournament will commence just two days after the conclusion of South Africa's three-match ODI series against England (10 to 15 January). To entertain fans during the league stage of this six-team tournament, four Saturday double-headers (two matches in a single day) have been scheduled.

Most Successful Teams in SA20 History

• Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC): The most successful team in the tournament to date, having won the title three times (2023, 2024, and 2026) and finished as runners-up in 2025.
• Pretoria Capitals (PC): Reached the final twice (2023 and 2026).
