Rohit Sharma Finally Breaks Silence on His Relationship With Virat Kohli
Following a magnificent eight-wicket victory over the West Indies in the first ODI, the Indian team is gearing up for the second match. Ahead of Wednesday's game, former captain Rohit Sharma discussed various topics in an exclusive conversation with JioStar, including his relationship with senior batter Virat Kohli and preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup.

Rohit and Virat share a good friendship-
Speaking about his rapport with Virat, Rohit mentioned that they started playing around the same time—he made his debut in 2007, and Virat in 2008. Since then, they have been striving to give their best for the team. So yes, they share a good friendship and understand what it takes to play at this level.
Rohit said:
'Obviously, ways of working differ, and rightly so; every individual is different. There is no questioning what he has done for the team—there is no need to even ask about it. It is there for everyone to see. He will continue to be the Kohli we know.'
He wants to prepare well, score runs, and win matches for the Indian team. That is what I see in him. It was the same when he was captain, and it was the same when I was captain. I see no reason why anything needs to change in that regard.
What discussions took place regarding the ODI World Cup?
Rohit also mentioned that he hasn't had any specific conversations with Virat about the ODI World Cup so far. According to Rohit, the World Cup is the World Cup, and everyone—especially Kohli—understands its significance; therefore, there is no need to say anything extra about it.
He has played the most World Cups; this will be his fifth, so he is well aware of its importance. That is the reason why no such conversation has taken place. Discussions usually revolve around what we can do while batting together—such as which bowler to attack and against whom to take a single.
