India's explosive batsman Prithvi Shaw will play domestic cricket in England. He has signed a deal with Nottinghamshire Club. Pakistan's fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi is also associated with this team. Prithvi, 23, will go to England in July after playing the Duleep Trophy. Here he will play the County Championship and the Royal London One-Day Cup.

ODI Cup Will Start in August

Prithvi Shaw, who played the last international match for India in July 2021, will play for Nottinghamshire. From August 1, England's domestic List-A tournament Royal London One-Day Cup will start. Prithvi will be a part of this tournament. His team's first match will be from Essex on 3rd August.

Prithvi plays domestic cricket from Mumbai in India. He has so far scored 2627 runs in 53 List-A matches at an average of 52.54. In this, he scored 8 centuries and his strike rate was also 123.27.

England Domestic Cricket

The England domestic season continues. Currently there is a 'T20 Blast' tournament going on. The T20 tournament will run till July 15, then the ODI Cup will start from August. During this, first class matches of County Championship will also continue from May to September.

Prithvi Shaw Will Also Play County Championship

Prithvi will also be a part of the County Championship after playing the ODI Cup for Nottingham. Nottingham County has Division-1 team, they have played 7 matches and only 7 league matches are left. Shaw will also be able to play 4 county matches for Nottingham before the start of India's domestic season.

Shaw, who has played 6 Test matches for India, has also played first class cricket from India-A, Mumbai and West Zone. He has scored 3679 runs in 42 matches at an average of 51.09. These include 12 centuries, last season he also played an innings of 379 runs while playing from Mumbai.

Prithvi Shaw will go to England after Duleep Trophy

Prithvi is currently in India and will play in the Duleep Trophy for the West Zone team. West Zone is the defending champion and this time the team will play the first semi-final on 5th July. Strong team from West Zone will compete against Central Zone. Along with Shaw, the team also has players like Cheteshwar Pujara, Arpit Vasavada and Sarfaraz Khan. The Duleep Trophy final will be played from July 12 to 16. Shaw will leave for England only after the final on July 16.

Arshdeep Singh and Navdeep Saini are also in England

Prithvi Shaw will be the fifth Indian player to play club cricket in England this season. Before him, Cheteshwar Pujara (Sussex), Ajinkya Rahane (Leicestershire), Arshdeep Singh (Kent) and Navdeep Saini (Worcestershire) have also been part of England's domestic cricket. Pujara, Saini and Rahane are currently in India, while Arshdeep is playing T20 Blast tournament in England itself.

Prithvi Shaw did not get a chance in Team India from 2021

Prithvi Shaw, who won India the Under-19 World Cup under his captaincy in 2018, also made his international debut in 2018 itself. He scored a century in his debut test itself, but at the international level his technique looked weak in front of the bowlers. He played the last international match against Sri Lanka in July 2021 as ODI and since then he could not play any match for India.

Shaw was included in the squad for the T20 series against New Zealand this year, but was not made a part of the playing-11 in the presence of Shubman Gill and Rituraj Gaikwad. Now the T20 team is about to be released on the West Indies tour, in such a situation it will be important to see whether he gets a chance in Team India after a bad IPL season.

Prithvi Shaw scored only one half-century in the last IPL

Prithvi's last IPL season was also nothing special. He opens for the Delhi Capitals team, but could not score more than 15 runs in any innings of the first 6 matches of the tournament. He was benched by the team and then given a chance in the last league match. Shaw won his team by putting fifty in it.
