Caribbean batters took Major League Cricket (MLC) by storm, making their presence felt on American soil. Nicholas Pooran smashed the fastest century, while Kieron Pollard reached the milestone of 1,000 sixes in T20 cricket.

The Major League Cricket (MLC) T20 tournament is currently underway in the United States. On Wednesday, July 15 (July 16 in India), the league witnessed a spectacular display of explosive batting by Caribbean players.

West Indies stalwarts shone in the knockout match; Nicholas Pooran smashed the fastest century in the league's history, while Kieron Pollard made history by completing 1,000 sixes in T20 cricket. The team also scored over 260 runs in the match.

Pooran Smashes Explosive Century

Nicholas Pooran smashed a century in just 31 balls, marking the fastest century in the history of this league. He hit a total of 13 sixes and 5 fours during his innings. He was dismissed after scoring 106 runs off 33 balls, having effectively knocked the opposing team out of the match within the first 10 overs. Pooran had come out to bat after his team suffered an early setback on the first ball of the second over; by the time he was dismissed, the score stood at 183/3 in 11.4 overs.

Pollard completes 1000 sixes

Former captain Kieron Pollard played a blistering innings of 64 runs off 25 balls, featuring one four and eight sixes. During this knock, he also crossed the milestone of 1,000 sixes in T20 cricket.

It is worth noting that only two batsmen in the history of T20 cricket have hit 1,000 or more sixes, and both hail from the West Indies. 'Universe Boss' Chris Gayle was the first to achieve this feat, and now Kieron Pollard has also joined that exclusive list.

While many batsmen fail to even score 6,000 runs across their entire T20 careers, these two players have amassed that many runs solely through sixes.
