Michael Bracewell Reveals Key Reason Behind NZ Back-to-Back T20 Losses: The Indian cricket team has grabbed everyone's attention with its stellar performance in the ongoing T20 International series. In the opening encounters, Team India relying on their bowling, particularly their disciplined approach during the death overs has managed to hand New Zealand defeats in two consecutive matches. Kiwi all-rounder Michael Bracewell himself openly acknowledged this on Monday.
Indian Bowlers Dominate Death Overs Against New Zealand
Speaking to the press on the eve of the third T20 match, New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell heaped praise on the Indian bowlers. He admitted that the Indian bowlers tightened the screws on his team during the final stages of the match (the death overs), making it impossible for them to score runs freely.
Bracewell remarked, "I think they maintained pressure on us while bowling, especially in the death overs. A lot of runs were scored in both these matches, so it’s not as if India secured one-sided victories."

These defeats are particularly stinging for the New Zealand side, as they failed to win the matches despite putting up strong totals.
- First T20: The New Zealand team failed to defend a massive total of 225 runs.
- Second T20: In this match as well, the Kiwi side could not defend a target of 180 runs.
In both these matches, the disparity between the Indian and New Zealand players, both with the bat and the ball, proved to be the deciding factor. According to Bracewell, in matches at this level, making the right decisions at crucial moments and performing well under pressure are what guarantee victory, something India demonstrated perfectly.
Looking for Consistency and All-Round Performance
Michael Bracewell believes that the New Zealand team is nearing its full potential, but there is a pressing need for greater consistency in their successes. He emphasizes that every player must take individual responsibility and give 100 percent across all facets of the game.
He added, "I think it comes down to controlling the things we have been performing well in. It’s about every player delivering a strong performance in every department."
