According to ESPNcricinfo, the IPL said in an internal note that it listed various changes to the laws of the game. One of these is that the franchisees will be allowed to choose their best playing XI. Teams can change their playing XI whether they are batting or bowling. This allows teams to vary their batting and bowling according to the pitch.
Other changes in IPL
- Over-rate penalty of only four fielders outside the 30-yard circle for each over not completed in the allotted time.
- Misconduct by the wicket-keeper will result in a dead ball and five penalty runs.
