The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India U19 squad for Australia U19’s 2026 tour of India, with three ODIs and two multi-day matches scheduled in Rajkot and Ahmedabad. The selection has attracted major attention as Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid have been included in the ODI squad.
Aaryavir is the son of former India opener Virender Sehwag, while Anvay is the son of legendary Indian batter and former head coach Rahul Dravid. Both youngsters will now get an opportunity to represent India U19 in the three-match ODI series against Australia.
BCCI Announces India U19 Squad for Australia Series, Sehwag and Dravid’s Sons Included
The BCCI has named separate squads for the ODI and multi-day formats ahead of Australia U19’s India tour. The three-match ODI series will be played in Rajkot, followed by two multi-day fixtures in Rajkot and Ahmedabad.
Lakshya Raichandani has been appointed captain for the ODI series, with Yashbardhan Chauhan as vice-captain. For the multi-day matches, the leadership roles will be reversed, with Yashbardhan taking charge and Lakshya serving as his deputy.
The selection gives several promising young cricketers an opportunity to perform against a strong Australian youth side.
Aaryavir Sehwag Gets First India U19 Call-Up for Australia ODI Series
One of the biggest highlights of the squad announcement is the maiden India U19 call-up for Aaryavir Sehwag.
The right-handed batter has already generated considerable interest with his performances in domestic cricket. During the 2024 Cooch Behar Trophy, Aaryavir smashed an impressive 297 against Meghalaya, putting his batting ability firmly in the spotlight.
He was also part of the West Delhi Lions in the Delhi Premier League 2026, where his attacking approach and big-hitting ability attracted attention.
Aaryavir will now have the opportunity to take another major step in his young career when India U19 face Australia in Rajkot.
Anvay Dravid Included in India U19 ODI Squad After Impressive Sri Lanka Tour
Anvay Dravid, the wicketkeeper-batter and son of Rahul Dravid, has also been selected for the India U19 ODI squad.
Anvay impressed during India's U19 tour of Sri Lanka, scoring a valuable 87-run innings in July. His performance helped him retain his place in the junior national setup.
His inclusion alongside Aaryavir Sehwag adds an interesting storyline to the upcoming Australia U19 series, with the sons of two iconic Indian cricketers set to feature together for India U19.

Why Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid’s Selection Is Making Headlines
The selection of Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid has naturally generated significant interest among Indian cricket fans because of their famous cricketing families.
However, both youngsters have been progressing through the domestic and age-group cricket system. Aaryavir's big domestic scores and Anvay's performances for India U19 have helped them earn opportunities at the junior international level.
Interestingly, neither Aaryavir Sehwag nor Anvay Dravid has been included in the multi-day squad. Both players will therefore be available only for the three-match ODI series against Australia U19.
