In this match, India scored 404 runs in the first innings. In response, the Bangladesh team was dismissed for 150 runs. India declared their second innings at 258 for two and set a target of 513 for Bangladesh. In response, Bangladesh's team was able to score only 324 runs and lost the match by 188 runs.

India needed four wickets to win and Bangladesh needed 241 runs on the last day of the match.

At the beginning of the fifth day of the match, Mohammad Siraj had decided India's victory by dismissing Mehdi Hasan. After this, Shakib troubled the Indian bowlers fiercely by batting aggressively. Shakib hit 84 runs with the help of six fours and six sixes. Kuldeep brought relief to the Indian bowlers by dismissing Shakib. In the very next over, Akshar dismissed Taijul to seal the victory for India.
