According to reports, Hardik Pandya is suffering from a stress injury in his leg. Due to this serious injury, he has been unable to attain full fitness. He has not stepped onto the field for any competitive match since the conclusion of the IPL 2026.
Hardik last represented India on March 8, during the T20 World Cup final. Since then, he has been consistently struggling with injuries and fitness-related issues.
Comeback Postponed After Withdrawal from India A vs Australia A Series
Hopes for Hardik's return to the field were recently raised when he was selected for the India 'A' squad for the ODI series against Australia 'A' in Puducherry. However, his leg injury resurfaced during training and preparation, forcing him to remain sidelined once again.
BCCI Directive: Mandatory Rehab at the Center of Excellence (CoE)
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided not to take any risks regarding Hardik's fitness. The Board has issued clear instructions to the Baroda Cricket Association to keep Hardik away from matches for the time being, allowing him to focus entirely on regaining full fitness.
The BCCI's medical team has directed that Hardik complete his rehabilitation program at the Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. Given the upcoming international schedule, the board does not want to rush his return.
