Rajandeep Singh: The second match of the T20 series between India and the West Indies will be played at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi. Prior to this, the Indian team sweated it out during a practice session.
A special moment unfolded during the session: while Team India's star batsmen were practicing hitting sixes, 24-year-old local fast bowler Rajandeep Singh troubled them significantly in the nets with his sharp bowling

Rajandeep bowled with great control and confidence in the nets against Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, and the 15-year-old sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi. On several occasions, he beat the batters and induced edges, drawing open praise from the senior players.
Sharing his experience of bowling to the big names in the Indian dressing room, Rajandeep told PTI, I got the opportunity to bowl to the senior players.
It helped me understand the key areas I need to work on and what improvements are required. I also learned that you cannot afford to bowl even a single loose delivery. Sanju Sir and the other batters told me that I was bowling very well.
Who is Rajandeep Singh?
Rajandeep's father, Kulwant Singh, drives a school bus in Jalandhar, Punjab. Rajandeep gave up his formal education after Class 12 to focus entirely on cricket. In 2016, when his family was facing severe financial hardship, he came close to quitting the sport. However, he asked for a year's time and secured a spot in the Jharkhand Under-16 team.
Later, his family returned to Jalandhar due to his grandmother's passing and financial constraints, but Rajandeep decided to stay back in Jharkhand to pursue his dream. Now, two or three IPL franchises have invited him for trials.
A 400-run innings in the CK Nayudu Trophy
Emerging from Jharkhand's cricketing talent pool, Rajandeep excels not only in bowling but also in batting. He caught the attention of scouts nationwide by playing a sensational, unbeaten innings of 400 runs off 387 balls against Meghalaya in the CK Nayudu Trophy.
Additionally, he was a key member of the Jharkhand team that won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy under Ishan Kishan's captaincy. In a match against Punjab where the target was 235 runs, he took 1 wicket for just 30 runs in his 4 overs. Throughout that tournament, he claimed 5 wickets in 8 matches and scored 200 runs across 7 innings at an average of 40 and a strike rate exceeding 186.
He also took 8 wickets in 8 matches during the Jharkhand Premier League. Rajandeep Singh considers Dhoni his greatest role model, stating that he learns the art of handling match situations from 'Mahi' himself. He regards the state team's captain, Ishan Kishan, as his mentor.
