Action against Ronaldo
Ronaldo’s suspension began on October 1st, the day Portugal played a match against Denmark. This means that Ronaldo has nearly completed his suspension. He will be available for Portugal’s next Nations League match against Denmark on November 14th. However, whether or not he actually takes the field will depend on the decision of coach Jorge Jesus.
The Root of the Dispute
The reason for Ronaldo’s departure from the camp was that coach Jesus did not field him in the match against Norway on September 27. Prior to this, he had played in the opening victory against Wales.
After leaving the camp, Ronaldo launched a sharp attack on coach Jesus, accusing him of breaking an agreement an agreement in which he had been promised playing time. Ronaldo issued a lengthy statement regarding the incident.
He stated, It is true what happened with Jorge Jesus. As I promised, I have decided to explain the circumstances surrounding the national team's previous training camp directly and firsthand.
He explained that the coach had promised him he would play in both the first and the last match. Ronaldo stated, "He told me I would play in the first and last matches, and that he would make three to four changes in every game for the sake of physical management." However, he was not fielded in the match against Norway, even after he had completed his warm-up.
In his defense, Ronaldo noted that the coach had broken his promise. He also apologized to the Portuguese fans for not meeting with them after the match. He said, "I apologize to the Portuguese people who supported us so strongly there; I apologize to the fans.
Will Ronaldo make a comeback?
Ronaldo could appeal against this suspension, but he has already apologized and stated that he expected to be penalized. He has not yet offered any immediate public reaction to the suspension. Now, all eyes will be on the match against Denmark on November 14th, to see whether or not Ronaldo returns to the pitch.
