MetLife Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located within the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, United States, situated 5 miles (8 km) west of New York City. It opened in 2010, replacing Giants Stadium, and serves as the home field for the National Football League (NFL) teams, the New York Giants and the New York Jets. Built at a cost of approximately $1.6 billion, the stadium was the most expensive stadium ever constructed in the United States at the time of its completion. MetLife Stadium hosted Super Bowl XLVIII. It also hosted several matches of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup—including the final—and is scheduled to host several matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including the final match. Due to FIFA's stadium sponsorship regulations, it will be referred to as the New York/New Jersey Stadium during these tournaments. It is the largest stadium in New Jersey, with a capacity exceeding 82,000, and is also the largest venue in the NFL.
