Indian batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi has etched his name in history as he became the youngest batsman to score a century in the Indian Premier League. The left-handed batsman achieved the feat in Rajasthan Royals' latest match of IPL 2025 against Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Batting first, the Titans posted a mammoth total of 209 runs thanks to brilliant half-centuries from Jos Buttler and Shubman Gill. In reply, the Royals achieved the target in just 16 overs thanks to a memorable century from Suryavanshi.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, aged 14 years and 32 days, created history while playing for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025. He scored a half-century in just 17 balls against Gujarat Titans on 28 April 2025, which is a world record for the youngest half-century in T20 cricket. Apart from this, he also scored a century in 35 balls, which is the fastest century by an Indian in IPL and the fastest century overall. Vaibhav is also the youngest player to debut in IPL, starting his innings by hitting a six off the first ball against Lucknow Super Giants on 19 April 2025 at the age of 14 years and 23 days.
Manish Pandey created history by scoring an unbeaten 114 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Deccan Chargers in IPL 2009 at the age of 19 years and 253 days. He scored this century in 73 balls with the help of 10 fours and 4 sixes and thus became the first Indian and youngest batsman to score a century in IPL. This record was broken by Vaibhav Suryavanshi in 18 seasons. In IPL 2025, Manish Pandey is playing for Kolkata Knight Riders, who have bought him for Rs 75 lakh.
Rishabh Pant, at the age of 20 years and 218 days, played a brilliant innings of 128 runs not out off 63 balls for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2018. In this innings, he hit 15 fours and 7 sixes, which was the fastest century in IPL at that time. Devdutt Padikkal, at the age of 20 years and 289 days, played a brilliant innings of unbeaten 101 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2021 at Wankhede Stadium on 22 April 2021. In this innings, he hit 11 fours and 5 sixes in 52 balls and RCB won by 10 wickets. This was his first IPL century, he is playing for RCB in IPL 2025, where he recently completed 1000 runs for RCB by scoring unbeaten 40 runs against Rajasthan Royals on 13 April 2025 and became only the second Indian batsman to do so.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, at the age of 21 years and 123 days, played an explosive innings of 98 runs off 47 balls for Rajasthan Royals against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023 on 11 May 2023. In this innings, he hit 12 fours and 5 sixes and led his team to a 9-wicket win. This innings was part of his brilliant form, in which he scored a century of 124 runs off 62 balls against Mumbai Indians in the same season.
