Youngest Indian Batter to 3000 Test Runs: Indian Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill has added another golden chapter to his international career. On the first day of the second Test match against Sri Lanka in Colombo, Gill completed 3,000 runs in Test cricket. With this achievement, he has secured a place in an elite club in the history of Indian cricket.

Gill needed just seven runs to reach the 3,000-run mark in Test cricket heading into this match. Although he missed reaching this milestone in the series opener at Galle, he did not keep fans waiting long in Colombo. He completed his 3,000 Test runs in the 23rd over of the innings by hitting a magnificent four off Sri Lankan bowler Keshara Nuwantha, courtesy of an outside edge.

Shubman Gill achieved this feat at the age of 26 years and 349 days. In doing so, he surpassed the legendary former Indian captain and all-rounder Kapil Dev. Kapil Dev had completed his 3,000 Test runs at the age of 26 years and 356 days. Gill has now become the fourth-youngest batter to score 3,000 runs in the Test format for India.

The record for being the youngest player to complete 3,000 runs in Test cricket belongs to Sachin Tendulkar, known as the 'God of Cricket'. Sachin achieved this feat at the age of just 23 years and 228 days. In this list, former explosive batsman Virender Sehwag holds the second spot, while former legend Dilip Vengsarkar is in third place.
