Mallika Sagar was born in Mumbai and spent 23 years in art auctions. She is all set to be a part of history as the first woman auctioneer at the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction in Dubai on December 19.
Born in a business family in Maharashtra, Sagar graduated with a degree in Arts in the United States and returned to his hometown. He worked in a Mumbai-based private company specializing in modern art and auctions.
Mallika Sagar was born into a business family in the capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra and has lived in the city since returning from the United States, where she graduated with a degree in art history. She also became the first female auctioneer of Indian origin at Christie's, an international art and luxury business, in 2001.
Mallika began her career as a curator in the early 2000s, and in 2001 she became the first female auctioneer of New York's Indian Heritage Museum. Mallika has considerable expertise as an auctioneer as she used to work at Pundols, an art gallery in Mumbai. He is also a partner at Air India Consultants and was formerly the auctioneer for the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) in 2021. Mallika will be the first female auctioneer in 15 years and in the history of IPL. He also worked as an auctioneer at the WPL last year. Sagar, on the other hand, has been working for the last two decades.
She was formerly married to Vir Advani, the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Blue Star Ltd, but they divorced. It is also unknown whether Mallika has children.
