Bradman required just four runs in his last Test innings to finish his career at an average of 100 but was out for a duck.
Sachin Tendulkar's exceptional career ended on November 16, 2013, exactly a day after his Test debut against Pakistan in 1989. He was unlike the greatest players in history up until that point. Tendulkar finished as the leading run-scorer in Test cricket as well as ODI. He made a total of 100 centuries in Test and ODIs combined. Tendulkar was the first cricketer to score 200 runs in ODIs and play 200 Test games. He remains an inspiration to cricketers and fans around the world.
One of the game's greatest all-rounders, Sir Garfield Sobers, made his Test debut on March 30 in 1954 and played his last Test on the same date in 1974. By the end of his brilliant career, Sobers had scored 8032 runs in 93 Test matches at an average of 57.78. With the ball, he had taken 235 wickets at an average of 34.03. Sobers was the first West Indian to score a triple-century in Test cricket.
Imran Khan, the only Pakistani captain to ever lift an ODI World Cup, is regarded as one of the best cricketers who ever came from this part of the world. During his time, Imran was one of the few cricketers to score over 3000 runs and pick over 300 wickets in Test cricket. He was such a successful captain that the President of Pakistan had requested him to come back from retirement to lead the side in the World Cup of 1992, to which he agreed and picked the winning wicket for Pakistan.
Sir Ian Botham is regarded as the best all-rounder this game has ever seen. Botham made his ODI debut in August 1976, a year before his Test debut. His career came to an end in August 1992. He played 102 Test games for England and scored over 5000 runs while picking up 383 wickets. In ODIs, Botham scored 2113 runs and picked 145 wickets.
