What does Virender Sehwag predict about India's rising youngsters?

The legendary Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has identified two up-and-coming Indian players who he believes will dethrone Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli and rule world cricket in the years to come. Naturally, Sehwag is referring to Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill.

During the India vs. England 2nd Test, the two young guns demonstrated their skill by saving the Indian cricket team from dangerous situations. While there were rumours that Gill was dumped after smashing a great century in the second inning, Jaiswal scored a wonderful double century in the first.

Sehwag posted the following on his X account, praising the two extremely gifted young people:

Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal have given fans a preview of what to anticipate from the Indian cricket team when the two current greats finally hang up their boots, with Virat Kohli sidelined and Rohit Sharma having difficulty at the batting end.

The two young guns stepped up, behind 0–1 in the series and under tremendous pressure to maintain their domination at home. However, the two personally required their efforts as well.

After an underwhelming performance in South Africa, Jaiswal wanted to demonstrate that he was here to claim the starting position. However, Gill was on the verge of being dismissed from the Test team due to his persistent mistakes. However, he could have been granted a second chance, at least for the time being, as he nearly hit a ton in the second inning.

Sachin Tendulkar, the former batting virtuoso, praised Shubamn's abilities after he reached his third Test century under difficult conditions.

"This innings by Shubman Gill was full of skill! Congratulations on a well timed 100!" Sachin commented on X.

India set a target of 399 thanks to Gill's hit, which England will have to chase and maybe duplicate another "Bazball" miracle, which happened in Headingley in 2019.

Irfan Pathan, a former all-rounder for India, highlighted the significance of Ton on Gill's thinking.

"This 100 by @ShubmanGill, will him the most satisfaction out of his all international centuries. Came at the time when the pressure was mounting on him. Well done buddy," Irfan expressed on X.

Day 3 ended with England enjoying a good start thanks to a 50-run partnership between openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley. With the aid of an additional bounce, Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Duckett (28), forcing him to give up an edge and terminating his stay on the crease.
