UP Yoddha are currently placed seventh in the PKL points table with 39 points from 13 matches. They have five wins and as many losses to their name, while their remaining three games have ended in draws. The UP-based club could break into the top three if they register a win over Puneri Paltan.
Meanwhile, Puneri Paltan find themselves in tenth place with 32 points from 13 games. They have six wins and seven losses thus far in the ongoing edition of the Pro Kabaddi League.

UP Yoddha lost their previous PKL encounter by a point against the Haryana Steelers. Puneri Paltan, on the other hand, won their previous match against Dabang Delhi KC 42 - 25. Coming on the back of a massive victory, they will be riding high on confidence.
The Pune-based club has defeated two of the best sides, Bengaluru Bulls and Dabang Delhi KC, in their last couple of games. They will hope to extend their winning lead going forward.

Surender Gill:Surender Gill put in some fine performances last season, which entrusted UP Yoddha to retain him. The youngster Gill has been superb this season and has taken the mantle in light of Narwals struggles. The 23-year-old has taken his tally this season past the hundred mark,claiming 103 raid points, and has also produced 8 successful tackles. He was rested in the last game and will come out all guns blazing. He had a superb outing against Pune the last time the two met and he will be key in this game.
Nitesh Kumar: Nitesh Kumar is as solid a defender as one can have in the side and has started to put on strong performances. The right corner defender has now scored 33 tackle points and is among the top-performing defender thus far.
Pardeep Narwal: The talisman Narwal seems to be getting fitter and in-form and has put in some decent performances in the last couple of games, though he is still far from his best. The phenomenon has accumulated 94 raid points thus far, and will need to produce a spectacular performance tonight.

Mohit Goyat: Mohit Goyat has taken up the lead role in the absence of the star raiders in the side and the youngster has done a fine job. He has 67 raid points, including 9 in the last game, to go along with 12 tackle points in total. He was sensational in the last game and would be hoping tokeep up the form. He will be looking to keep the momentum going.
Aslam Inamdar: In the light of the failure of senior players performing, Inamdar has stepped up and is delivering the goods for Puneri Paltan. The all-rounder has scored 88 raid points, while he has accumulated 13 tackle points. He has been superb lately and will hold the key yet again in this game.
Sombir: Sombir may not be the most experienced player in the side but has pretty much been the leader in defense lately. He has been terrific for Puneri Paltan and has registered 24 tackle points in just 9 games, including 11 tackle points in the last 2. He will be key against a superb UP Yoddha raiding unit.
