The Indian wrestling community was rocked by the disqualification of Vinesh Phogat, a prominent figure in women's freestyle wrestling. Phogat was disqualified from the women's 57kg final just before the match due to being 100 grams overweight. Having initially met the weight limit on the first day of competition and winning all her bouts, the unexpected disqualification was a major blow. Australian field hockey player Tom Craig found himself in hot water after being arrested in Paris for attempting to buy cocaine. Alongside a 17-year-old seller, Craig was detained but ultimately faced no formal charges, receiving only a warning. The Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) took decisive action by removing Craig from the remaining hockey events and barring him from participating in any further activities related to the Paris 2024 Olympics.

American gymnast Jordan Chiles experienced a dramatic turn of events involving her bronze medal. Chiles' coach, Cecile Landi, had initially submitted a successful enquiry to the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) requesting an additional 0.1 points, which promoted Chiles from fifth place to third.
