Suryakumar Yadav Nominated for ICC T20I Cricketer of the Year 2022

Indias charismatic batsman Suryakumar Yadav was on Thursday nominated for the ICC Mens T20 Cricketer of the Year 2022 award. Apart from Surya, England left-arm fast bowler Sam Curran, Zimbabwe off-spin all-rounder Sikandar Raza and Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan have also been nominated for the honor.

Suryakumar Yadav Nominated for ICC T20I Cricketer of the Year 2022, Suryakumar created a sensation in T20 cricket in the year 2022. With his 360-degree strokeplay, he became only the second batsman in the world to score more than 1000 runs in a year in T20Is. He scored the most runs with 1164 runs at an average of 46.56 and a tremendous strike rate of 187.43. In 2022, he hit the maximum 68 sixes. With 2 hundred, and 9 half-centuries throughout the year, Suryakumar is undoubtedly the number-one T20 batsman in the world.

Suryakumar Yadav Career, Suryakumar scored 239 runs in the T20 World Cup in Australia at an impressive average of 59.75 and a strike rate of 189.68, including half-centuries against South Africa, Zimbabwe and the Netherlands. In the second T20 match against New Zealand at Mount Maunganui, he hit 11 fours and seven sixes at a strike rate of 217.65 and remained unbeaten on 111 off 51 balls. This was his second T20 century. Surya scored the first century of his T20 career against England in Nottingham. Scored 117 runs in 55 balls.

Sikandar Raza nominated for ICC T20I Cricketer of the Year 2022, Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe had a stellar year with the bat and has also contributed significantly with the ball in T20s. A stellar performance in the T20 World Cup in Australia made it a World Cup to remember for the Zimbabwean all-rounder.

Sikandar Raza scored 735 runs in the year at a strike rate of over 150 and took 25 wickets at an economy rate of 6.13. Raza performed exceptionally well in Zimbabwes surprise victory over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. Raza took 3 for 25 before being run out on the last ball to give Zimbabwe a thrilling one-run victory.

Sam Curran nominated for ICC T20I Cricketer of the Year 2022, Sam Curran was the Player of the Tournament in the 2022 T20 World Cup. His bowling in T20 saw a lot of improvement in this tournament. His death bowling was very effective. With Englands premier pacers absent, Sam Curran bowled brilliantly in the World Cup, taking 13 wickets. He finished second behind Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka.

Mohammad Rizwan nominated for ICC T20I Cricketer of the Year 2022 , Rizwan continued his record-breaking year in T20 in 2021 scoring 996 runs in 2022. He scored 10 half-centuries in T20s in 2022 and scored 175 runs in the T20 World Cup, which is the joint-highest by a Pakistan batsman. Averaging 45.27 in T20s in 2022, Rizwan cemented his place among the key batsmen in Pakistans batting line-up. Even in 2022, Rizwan briefly held the top spot in the T20I rankings for batsmen. Rizwan is second behind Indias Suryakumar with 836 rating points.
